Am I Exposed?

Terms and conditions

Last updated: 25 September 2026. Using am-i-exposed.com means accepting these terms. They are written to be understood.

This is an English translation provided for convenience. The service is operated from Peru and the Spanish version is the governing text.

1. Who provides the service

am-i-exposed.com is operated by Guillermo Carlin, an individual based in Lima, Peru. Contact: support@selenticgroup.com.

2. What this service is

The service checks whether an email address or a password appears in data breaches that are already known and public, and explains what is worth doing about it. The information comes from public breach registries maintained by third parties.

It is worth saying what it is not. It is not legal, financial or personalised professional security advice. It does not monitor your accounts, does not remove your data from the internet, does not recover lost accounts and does not detect fraud in progress. It is general guidance, and the decisions about your accounts are yours.

3. Free check

Checking an email address and a password is free and needs no account. It is subject to usage limits per origin to prevent abuse; if you exceed them you will have to wait a few minutes.

4. Your account

Buying the action plan requires an account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the details you register and for keeping your password to yourself. If you notice unauthorised use, write to us and we will help you shut it down.

You can ask for your account to be deleted at any time by writing to support@selenticgroup.com.

5. The paid action plan

The action plan is a document generated for your specific result, which you can read on the site and download as a PDF. Access lasts 30 days from the moment payment clears, and during that period you can come back and update it as often as you like.

The plan is built from the information available at the time of the check. A breach made public afterwards will not appear in a plan generated before it.

6. Price and payment

Prices are in US dollars and shown on the site before you confirm the purchase; that is the price that applies to that transaction. Payments are processed by Stripe, which handles your card details directly; we neither receive nor store them.

Monitoring plans are subscriptions that renew automatically at the same price each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time, online and by yourself, from the Manage subscription page: it opens your billing page at Stripe, where you cancel in one click. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep access until then. The one-time report is a single charge, not a subscription.

7. Refunds

All sales are final. The report is delivered in full the moment you buy it, so there are no refunds for a change of mind. Before paying you can read a complete sample plan, in the same format and the same depth as your own, so you know exactly what you are getting.

This does not affect your rights when something is genuinely wrong. If the plan does not generate, if you cannot reach what you paid for, or if the service is not what this page describes, write to support@selenticgroup.com and we will fix it or refund you. Nor does it affect any rights the law where you live gives you that cannot be waived.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the service available at all times, but it may be interrupted for maintenance or by failures at the providers it depends on. If an interruption prevents you from using access you have already paid for, write to us and we will make up the equivalent time.

9. Acceptable use

You may check email addresses that are yours or that belong to people who have authorised you. Using the service to check other people's addresses in bulk, or for harassment, extortion or any purpose that harms the people those addresses belong to, is not permitted. We apply technical limits to enforce this clause and may suspend access for anyone who breaks it.

10. Intellectual property

The text, design and the content of the action plans belong to Guillermo Carlin. Breach data comes from Have I Been Pwned and is used under its Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence, which requires the source to be credited.

11. Liability

The service is provided as it is. We do not guarantee that public breach registries are exhaustive: an address not appearing does not prove it never leaked, only that it is not recorded in the registries consulted.

To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms excludes the rights granted to you as a consumer by Peru's Consumer Protection Code, nor liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence.

12. Governing law and complaints

These terms are governed by the laws of Peru. Any complaint can be sent first to support@selenticgroup.com; you may also take it to INDECOPI in exercise of your consumer rights.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top marks the current version, and material changes will be announced on the site. The version that applies to a purchase is the one in force when it was made.
